Environmentally Significant Areas in the Greater Harvey Region

Several areas of significance exist in the Harvey area. The Nature Trust of New Brunswick maintains a database of these sites. These sites must fufill any of a number of criteria, including: contains a high diversity of plant and/or animal communities, is home to a rare and vunerable, a unique, or a distinct species of wildlife, or supports a core population of a rare species. Addititionally, Ducks Unlimited have created several wetlands, which are managed for waterfowl habitat.

The following map is divided into six major sectors for the Harvey Area. Clicking on each section will bring up that section. Information on Ducks Unlimited sites and Nature Trust Environmentally Significant areas can be obtained by clicking the corresponding symbol. Descriptions of Category 1, 2 and 3 refer to the most important features of the site.
