Churches in Harvey

The people who have settled in Harvey over the years have had many different backgrounds, and each group brought their beliefs with them, thus Harvey has many different churches.

Harvey United Baptist Church- Built in 1893, it was originally a Presbyterian church that was built on land donated by Marshall Robison. It is located beside the Harvey Village Bake Shop. Service starts at 11:00 A.M. There is Sunday School available from nursery to high school. Church number: 366- 5461

St. Andrews United Church- Originally the Presbyterian Church, the first church burned down in 1895. In 1925 it became the property of the United Church of Canada. Services are at 11:00 Sunday morning and there are Sunday School classes for nursery to high school, Joint services are held with Knox Presbyterian in the summer. Knox Presbyterian Church- This year marks the 25th anniversary of the dedication of this church. The first church changed ownership in 1925. Vacation bible school is held one week during the summer. Sunday morning service begins at 11:00 A.M., with joint services being held during the summer months with the United Church. Church Number: 366-5398 Manse: 366-8174

All Saints Anglican Church- Located in Magaguadavic, the original church was torn down in 1921 and the new one was built on the same spot. Last year the steeple was blown off the church during a severe rain storm. Services are held every fourth Sunday at 11:00 A.M.

Seventh Day Adventist Church- The present church is located in Harvey, built in 1951. A Sabbath School is held before church services at 2:00. Services are held on Saturdays at 3:00, A Bible school is held each summer. Church number: 366- 2178 Manse: 456-1638

United Baptist Church- Located in Prince William, the church was built in 1852. In 1965 it was moved to its present site. There is a Sunday School for ages three to adult.

United Pentecostal Church- The church was first built 1952. The next church was built in behind the first one in 1976. A camp was built on the Hanwell Road a few years ago and many people come from different parishes each summer. Services are held at 10:30 on Sunday morning and 6:30 for the Evangelistic Service. Acton Presbyterian Church- This church was dedicated in 1868 and originally sat behind the cemetery. Services are held during the months of July and August at 9:30 in the morning. This church is lighted with oil lamps and heated by a wood stove, just as it was years ago. Manse Number: 366-3174

Kingdom Hall- This is the meeting place of the Jehovah Witnesses. Their building was built in 1977 and was financed by the congregation and from donations of the Kingdom Hall in Fredericton.

St. Ann's Parish And The Missions- The Missions are found in the area surrounding Harvey. Mass is held at St. Mark's in Lake George: Saturday at 4:00, Immaculate Conception in Cork: Saturday at 5:30 P.M., St. Ann's Parish in Kingsclear: Sunday at 11:00 A.M. and St. Patrick's in New Market: Sunday at 9:00 A.M. Gospel Lighthouse- This church is for those of the Pentecostal faith. Morning worship and Sunday School are held at 10:30 Sunday mornings. The Evangelistic service is 7:00 Sunday evenings, and Bible study and prayer meeting is held Wednesdays at 7:30 P.M. Church Number: 366-2140 Manse: 366-3524

Lake George United Church- The land for this church was bought for five shillings in 1854, Services are held every Sunday morning at 8:30. Church and Manse number: 575-2577
