A Canadian Rural Partnerships Pilot Project

These webpages are for educational purposes. They were developed to assist teachers in developing assignments that incorporate local knowledge into the day to day curriculum. The following pages provide the background information that is required to carry out various assignments. These pages are also intended to serve as a template to deliver local knowledge into other schools.

These assignments can assist in:

  • Promoting an increased awareness of our local environment, history and culture.
  • Increasing familiarity with computers and the internet.
  • Expanding outlooks on the potential of the area's environment and economy.
  • This teaching module was built on a web browser platform. Usage of web browsers will increase the student's familiarity with the Internet and allows for easy and inexpensive updates to the local knowledge database.

This site is organized into topics of importance to Harvey Station. Each topic's main page can be accessed from the menu on the left. The pages will guide you through the assembled information; then at the bottom of each of the main pages, links to other websites, to literature and to assignments are available.
