Adrian Davis

Dave MacMullin

Adrian Davis

Dave was born in Saint John and lived there with his parents and 5 siblings until moving with his family to Fredericton at age 14. His father grew up in the Magaguadavic area but went overseas in World War 2, returning after the war and beginning work in Saint John.

As a student, Dave had several jobs including working on the Mactaquac Dam and in house construction. He graduated from Fredericton High in 1966, went to UNB, received a BA, majoring in Math in 1971, a B Ed in 1974 and a M Ed in the 1990s from UNB. At UNB, Dave played on the UNB Varsity basketball team for three years. He took a break one year and spent six months hitch-hiking around Europe.

Dave came to Harvey to fill in for teacher Olive Swan.  The next year, Dave filled in for another teacher, and his teaching career at Harvey continued for another 30+ years. During his 30+ years of teaching, Dave coached sports, primarily basketball, with his teams winning several provincial championships, served as student council adviser for several years, and organized many school trips to Quebec City. Dave finished his 35-year teaching career with three years as VP and seven years as Principal of HHS.

Dave lives on Cherry St. and is in his second term on the Council.  He is on the Library Board, is chair of the committee to form a Rural Community in the greater Harvey area, still coaches the basketball team and plays recreational tennis, basketball, and golf. He is married to Barb and has two adult children, Josh and Glenn and two grandchildren.

Adrian was born in Fredericton, but he has spent each summer on Oromocto Lake. Since 1999 he has been in the Natural Resources industry from mineral exploration to mining and studied at Sir Sandford College, earning his Geotechnical Engineering Technology diploma and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Acadia University. In 2016, after working out west at various mines, Adrian moved back to New Brunswick and, in 2017, moved to Harvey to be closer to his family roots of Manners Sutton. Along with being involved with the Village of Harvey as a Councillor. Adrian is with the Fredericton Community Kitchens as a volunteer and board member, Quartermain Earth Science Centre as a Geologist volunteer, Geoscience Councillor for Association Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of New Brunswick, and has been volunteering with Harvey Community Hospital Foundation in delivering groceries and meals on wheels. In his spare time, Adrian enjoys being part of the Harvey Regional Heritage & Historical Association, Harvey Improvement Association, geology, rock/mineral collecting, hiking, spending time with family, being on the water, photography, studying politics, and attempting to get a green thumb.
